About Me

Stephanie E. Johnson Pochop is a third-generation legal practitioner in Gregory, South Dakota, and a 1991 graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Law. Stephanie graduated from Gregory High School and received her B.A. in English, History and French from the University of South Dakota.

Stephanie is an active member within the South Dakota Bar Association and has recently been elected as the President-Elect of the entire Association. She is the past president of her local bar, the Rosebud Bar Association, as well as the former chair of the Women in Law Committee. She is a current member of the State Bar Consumer Protection Committee and the State Bar Judicial-Bar Liaison Committee. She has served as a South Dakota State Bar Commissioner, is an appointed member of the Judicial Qualification’s Commission and serves on the South Dakota United States District Court Local Rules Committee. Stephanie represents South Dakota as one of its delegates to the Infinity Project, a regional organization dedicated to increasing gender diversity in the state and federal judiciary.

Stephanie is also a past president of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association and was selected to be a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, which are both large organizations dedicated to upholding the jury system and promoting professional excellence.

Stephanie’s primary area of practice is in litigation, with a special interest in claims for people who have been injured in accidents or been discriminated against in their employment. She feels honored to have been mentored by highly-skilled trial lawyers including her late father, Charles ‘Rick’ Johnson.
